The regular audit of quality management and environmental management system at Uralkali JSC has been completed. The committee of the All-Russia Scientific Research Institute for Certification (VNIIS) that conducted the audit has concluded that the system conforms to the requirements of GOST R ISO 9001-2008 (ISO 9001:2008) and GOST R ISO 14001-2007 (ISO 14001:2007) in terms of the manufacturing of products.
The press centre of the company informed RusBusinessNews that the committee also recommended the management of VNIIS to confirm the certificates of conformance of the quality management and environmental management system to ROST R ISO 9001 (ISO 9001) and GOST R ISO 14001 (ISO 14001) issued to Uralkali earlier.
Uralkali has voluntarily taken the responsibility of undergoing the certification every three years. The company has certificates of conformance of quality management and environmental management system to the requirements of Russian and international standards issued by VNIIS (Russia) and SGS (Switzerland). They monitor the conformance to the standards used by the company conducting audits annually.
The committee also recommended the management of VNIIS to issue Uralkali a certificate for the quality management system for the development of design or cost estimate documentation which conforms to the requirements of GOST R ISO 9001. Before the project and engineering department of the company operated under license but since 1 January 2010 licensing of construction activities has been abolished. Now members of self-regulating organisations membership in which requires an appropriate certificate have the right to perform engineering work.
Vladislav Baumgertner, the Director General of Uralkali JSC, stated that the company has for many years been focusing efforts on the increase of the management efficiency in quality and environmental issues. "We guarantee to our partners that we make products of quality they need, and voluntarily take upon ourselves obligations before the people of Berezniki, environmental protection agencies, and consumers to minimize the affect of the production on the environment. Moreover, the certification enhances the image of the company, makes it more attractive for investors, and improves its reputation. All this enables us to successfully present the Uralkali products at global markets", he said.
