Marking CE means that the product complies with the European Union’s Directives in the sphere of consumption security. European Directives’ requirements are valid for the majority of goods sold on the territory of the European Union regardless of the manufacturing country. Marking CE for this group of products and the Declaration of its Compliance with European Directives is OBLIGATORY.
The purpose of marking CE is to signify that the product (goods) conforms with requirements and to proof that the manufacturer has carried out all check procedures related to the given product and established by the European Union.
The regulations of the Council Decision 768/2008/EC (93/465/EEC) on the CE conformity marking describe all methods of testing the conformity, they are divided into sections and grouped according to the degree of risk.
The CE mark must be applied to all products; in case it is impossible to achieve, the mark is placed on the packing.
Illegal marking of goods (products) with the CE mark in the EU member states will be punished by considerable fines or even criminal punishment, and the goods will be withdrawn from circulation. European surveillance services closely control goods marked CE that come to the EU market and have the right to take certain measures against businessmen violating EU Directives.
WARNING. Please be careful not to mix the CE mark with China Export mark, since they closely resemble each other outwardly.
