BRC (British Retail Consortium)

The BRC (British Retail Consortium) is an organization uniting the majority of trade organizations operating in the UK, including foodstuff sellers.
BRC standards are aimed at the proper practices in the production of foodstuffs and created on the basis of normative documents, namely BRC Global Standard – Food, envisaged for the manufacturers of foodstuffs to be supplied to retail shops, as well as BRC/loP Packaging Standards, which determine the requirements for the manufacturers of packaging and packaging materials for foodstuffs.
BRC standards are intended not only for food-producing organizations, but also organizations producing packaging materials for foodstuffs.
British Retail Consortium embraces the majority of trade organizations operating in Britain, including foodstuffs suppliers.
The standards cover the following main requirements for:
Elements of the quality monitoring system;
Production environment requirements
Products’ control requirements
Production process control requirements
Personnel requirements
Critical points system requirements
